Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon

__________

Box-Tengor was the name given to a part of box cameras manufactured by Zeiss Ikon before, during and after the Second World War. There is no model name, only a code, usually made up of two parts separated by a /. The first part is the serial number. The second part, not always present, indicates the format of the negatives obtained with this model of camera. A code without "/" is 4.5 x 6 cm. A "/ 2" indicates a 6 x 9 cm. A "/ 14" indicates a 5 x 7.5 cm. one "/ 15" a 6.5 x 11 cm and one "/ 18"a 3 x 4 cm. Some models, a little shy, do not give their format by a code.

The name Zeiss Ikon usually appears on the front face above or below the lens.
The Box-Tengor name and model number are sometimes found on the back of the camera, but on the leather-covered models, as they only appear in relief, wear may have faded them very strongly.

The 54/2 model is a 6 x 9 on 120 film, the origin of which is found at Goerz, before the merger in Zeiss Ikon. Its lens is a Frontar opening at 11. There is no real diaphragm, but the upper tab marked “Blender” is extended by a metal slider pierced with two holes which are positioned behind the lens. The corresponding apertures are f / 18 and f / 25. Between this slider and the base of the handle is a second slider marked “Meter” and graduated "Gr. 4m" and "Portr. 1m". This pull tab allows you to position two conversion lenses behind the main lens. A pull tab on the left side of the device allows you to choose between Instantaneous (pull tab pulled) and Pose.
This copy, not having the front face with the hexagon appeared in 1932, is therefore prior to this year.
